Staff Offices

Congregational input received through a November 2023 survey indicated the projected $900,000 cost to fully renovate the second floor of our East Wing did not align with the church’s ministry priorities and that we needed to develop a new approach to officing our dedicated staff. 

After evaluating the space available on the UPUMC campus and the financial/space needs of our ministry partners, UPUMC and Project Transformation North Texas collaborated to form a plan to renovate the second floor of the East Wing to a combination of a dedicated office suite for PT North Texas (south side of hallway) and conference & classroom space (north side of hallway) to be shared by UPUMC and all of its partners. UPUMC’s staff will move into the office space currently occupied by PT North Texas. This mutually beneficial scenario reduces PT’s facility usage fees by half and frees more than $700,000 of capital campaign capacity (compared to building out new staff offices) to fund improvements that will better serve children and their families and enable us to make much-needed updates to the Fellowship Hall and Caldwell Room.

UPUMC’s staff has shown tremendous flexibility and resilience overcoming the significant limitations presented by working from temporary office spaces. Creating an office space where the entire staff can collaborate has been a long-recognized need at UPUMC.
